Why visit Neratov
The pilgrimage Church of the Assumption is one of the most distinctive destinations in the Orlické Mountains. The Baroque building was badly damaged after the Second World War but has gradually been brought back to life. Its partly glazed roof fills the interior with daylight and creates an atmosphere that changes with the weather and time of day.
What to expect
According to the operator, the church itself is open to everyone at all times. The towers have separate opening hours, generally 9:00–20:00 Monday to Saturday and 11:00–20:00 on Sunday. Services, pilgrimages and cultural events take place in Neratov, so check the current programme before travelling.
A practical trip plan
Allow just under an hour each way from Prostřední Lipka. Set aside at least two hours for a relaxed church visit and short walk; with lunch or a longer route in the Orlické Mountains, it easily becomes a half-day trip. Wear shoes suitable for unpaved paths and bring a warmer layer in cooler months.
A considerate visit
